Don't Call it Over Yet!
August 23, 2026 - 10:30 amMorning Worship Service
The sermon follows the beginning, the brokenness, and the blessing of Naomi. She once knew the fullness of a husband and two sons, then endured the deaths of all three. Pastor Caudill urges believers not to interpret suffering as proof that God has abandoned them and encourages hurting people to bring bitterness to Jesus rather than allowing it to define them. Ruth 4 reveals what Naomi could not see in Ruth 1. Through Ruth, Boaz, and the birth of Obed came Jesse, David, and ultimately Jesus Christ. What looked like a graveyard became a genealogy. The seed of God's Word and God's purpose can reach farther than present circumstances allow us to see, because God's faithfulness is bigger than the chapter we are living in right now.
For listeners in Augusta, a Savannah River city founded in 1736 with medical-education roots reaching back to 1828, Washington Heights Baptist Church in Thomson is within driving distance, and we invite you to worship with us and hear the Word of God preached. Whether you live nearby or are listening from farther away, this message points beyond the chapter you can presently see to the faithfulness of Jesus Christ. Our regular service times are Sunday School at 9:30 AM, Sunday Worship at 10:30 AM and 6:00 PM, and Wednesday at 6:00 PM.
