Devil, The Blood Says You're WRONG!

Pastor Gary Caudill preaches from Hebrews 12:24 on the blood of Jesus that “speaketh better things than that of Abel.” The sermon contrasts Abel’s blood, which cried from the ground after Cain’s sin, with the blood of Christ, which speaks from the mercy seat with righteousness, mercy, forgiveness, and redemption. The message reminds believers that many voices speak over people today, including the devil, the past, pain, memory, and critics, but the blood of Jesus has the final word.

This sermon teaches believers how to answer the devil with the Word of God rather than feelings or emotions. Pastor Caudill walks through Romans 8, Isaiah 26, 2 Corinthians 10, Ephesians 4, Philippians 1, 1 John 1, Hebrews 12, and Genesis 4 to show that the devil is wrong about the believer’s past, position, peace, pain, and God’s promise. The repeated call is for Christians to “speak blood language” by standing on what Scripture says Christ’s blood has already secured.

Devil, The Blood Says You’re WRONG!

Hebrews 12:24

A follow-along listener outline about the blood of Jesus answering the devil’s accusations with better things.

The Blood Has a Voice Too

Hebrews 12:24
And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
There are voices speaking over people today. The devil has a voice. Your past has a voice. Your pain has a voice. Your memory has a voice. Your critics have a voice.
But thank God, the blood has a voice too!
Revelation 12:10
And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
Key Thought: The devil may accuse, but the blood of Jesus answers with better things.
Today, The Lord is not teaching us to talk to the devil from our feelings OR emotions. No, it’s stronger than that! He is teaching us how to answer the devil on HIS terms!
Point 1

Devil, You’re Wrong About My Past

Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Key Thought: The devil says, “You are condemned,” but the blood says, “You are redeemed.”
Note: The blood may not erase every memory, but it destroys hell’s right to use that memory as a weapon against the redeemed.
Read Aloud Together
Devil, you may know what I did, but you must have forgotten what Jesus did according to Romans 8:1.
If the devil cannot bury you in your past, he’ll try to challenge your position.
Point 2

Devil, You’re Wrong About My Position

Romans 8:33-34
Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Key Thought: The devil files charges, but God justifies and dismisses cases.
Note: The enemy speaks against me, but Jesus speaks for me.
Read Aloud Together
Devil, you’re wrong about where I stand. I stand justified in Christ according to Romans 8:33.
If the devil cannot change your standing before God, he’ll try to disturb your peace with God.
Point 3

Devil, You’re Wrong About My Peace

Isaiah 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
2 Corinthians 10:5
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
Key Thought: The devil says, “You’ll never have peace,” but the blood says my mind can be brought under Christ and have PERFECT peace!
Note: Some thoughts are loud, but loud does not mean Lord.
Read Aloud Together
Devil, you’re wrong about my mind. I do not have to let every thought build a house in my head according to 2 Cor. 10:5.
If the devil cannot keep you tormented in your mind, he’ll try to poison you in your spirit.
Point 4

Devil, You’re Wrong About My Pain

Hebrews 12:15
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled.
Ephesians 4:31-32
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Key Thought: The devil says, “Stay bitter,” but the blood says, “Mercy has already been shown to you, so you can show it to others!”
Note: Bitterness keeps the wound alive, but mercy brings the wound to Jesus.
Read Aloud Together
Devil, you’re wrong about my pain. I will not let what hurt me become what rules me according to Eph. 4:31 & 32!
If the devil cannot keep you bitter, he’ll try to convince you that failure canceled God’s promise in your life.
Point 5

Devil, You’re Wrong About God’s Promise To Me

Philippians 1:6
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Key Thought: The devil says, “You are finished,” but the blood says God finishes what He starts.
Note: Trouble is not abandonment. Weakness is not disqualification. Your Failure is not stronger than God’s covenant.
Read Aloud Together
Devil, you’re wrong about God’s promise to me. God knew every weakness before He called me, and He still started and will finish His work in me according to Philippians 1:6!
Now we come back to Hebrews 12:24. The blood does not speak weak things. The blood speaks better things.
Point 6

Devil, You’re Wrong Because The Blood Speaks Better Things

Hebrews 12:24
And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Genesis 4:10
And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.
Key Thought: Abel’s blood cried from the ground, but Jesus’ blood speaks from the mercy seat.
Note: Abel’s blood cried judgment, but Jesus’ blood cries mercy.
  • Redeemed.
  • Forgiven.
  • Washed.
  • Kept.
  • Covered.
  • Restored.
  • Still His.

The Blood Speaks Better Things

The devil has talked long enough. He has accused. He has lied. He has replayed the past. He has stirred up fear. He has tried to keep people under shame.
But Heaven has an answer. The blood speaks better things.
  • Lost sinner, the blood says you can be saved.
  • Backslider, the blood says you can come home.
  • Wounded believer, the blood says you can be healed.
  • Accused child of God, the blood says the devil is wrong.

Questions and Answers

Quick sermon takeaways from Hebrews 12:24, focused on the blood of Jesus, the believer’s answer to accusation, and the better things spoken by Christ.

What is the main message of Devil, The Blood Says You’re WRONG?

The main message is that the devil may accuse, but the blood of Jesus answers with better things. Pastor Gary Caudill teaches that the devil, the past, pain, memory, and critics may all have voices, but the blood of Jesus has the final word for the redeemed believer.

What does Hebrews 12:24 mean when it says the blood speaketh better things?

Hebrews 12:24 says, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. In the sermon, Pastor Caudill explains that Abel’s blood cried from the ground, but Jesus’ blood speaks from the mercy seat. Abel’s blood cried guilt and judgment, while Jesus’ blood speaks mercy, righteousness, forgiveness, and redemption.

How should a Christian answer the devil’s accusations?

The sermon teaches that Christians should answer the devil with the Word of God rather than feelings or emotions. Pastor Caudill calls this learning to speak “blood language,” meaning believers stand on what Scripture says the blood of Christ has already secured. When the devil accuses, the believer can answer with verses such as Romans 8:1, Romans 8:33, and Philippians 1:6.

How does Romans 8:1 answer the devil’s accusations about my past?

Romans 8:1 says, There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. The sermon teaches that the devil may know what a believer did, but he must face what Jesus did. The blood of Christ destroys hell’s right to use the believer’s past as a weapon against the redeemed.

What does the sermon teach about the believer’s position in Christ?

Pastor Caudill teaches from Romans 8:33-34 that the devil may file charges, but God justifies and dismisses the case. Romans 8:33 says, Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. The believer’s standing is not based on personal righteousness, but on the finished work and present intercession of Jesus Christ.

Can a Christian have peace when the devil attacks the mind?

Yes. Isaiah 26:3 says, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. The sermon also points to 2 Corinthians 10:5, which teaches believers to cast down imaginations and bring thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Pastor Caudill reminds the church that some thoughts are loud, but loud does not mean Lord.

How does bitterness keep pain alive?

The sermon teaches that bitterness keeps the wound alive, but mercy brings the wound to Jesus. Ephesians 4:31-32 calls believers to put away bitterness, wrath, anger, clamour, evil speaking, and malice, and to forgive one another as God has forgiven them for Christ’s sake. Pastor Caudill explains that forgiveness lets God be the judge while the believer walks in peace.

What hope does Philippians 1:6 give to believers who feel like failures?

Philippians 1:6 says, Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. The sermon teaches that failure is not stronger than God’s covenant. The devil may say a believer is finished, but the blood says God finishes what He starts.
